I mentioned about comfort while on the ice and since standing all day doesn't work for me I needed a chair. I tried the buckets but they seemed too low and no back support. I carried camp chairs out with me but more weight and they tried to blow away when you'd get up. So what to do?
Well I had added this "tackle box" to my sled

Where I work there was some scap aluminum that had been bent wrong that I figured I could make into a storage box for the gear I carried with me to replace my original wooden box that was just too heavy. Like you can see here.

I kept the wooden lid because I could use it to screw holders in for gear.
Then I figured it might work well for maybe keeping my rod so they didn't get so tangled. I first tried to make "sleeves" with PVC to hold themin place as you can see here.

That worked OK but I have since switched to the foam tubes you can get for wrapping your water pipes. They seem to work OK and are not as abrassive to the rods and line.
I first tried to use the closed cell foam (blue) on the lid and was blessed that the hiegth the box ended up was just the right hiegth, similar to a 7gal bucket or where you combine 2 buckets to get a taller seat (I'll talk about that latter). The hiegth was important to me for my stiffing joints and all, I love how our bodies just seem to change with time. Back to the seat. The blue foam was nice but no back rest so I went back to my red fold up stadium seat and screwed it right to the lid.

It folds up nice for transporting and is very comfortable.
The storage box has carried all of my gear such as extra cold weather gear, camera, fish finder and battery, tackle bait etc. and with the latch keeps every thing "safe".
So this is the "short" story of how I carry my chair[][][fishin]
