Been looking at fish finders since the transducer from my Bottomline is give me fits and I think its about dead. I'm looking for something in the "under $300" category without GPS and without color (I'm colorblind and could care less about it). I have not been impressed with my friend's Lowrance Mark 5XPro or another's Elite 5x. I am seriously looking at Humminbird's 571 HD DI. It is a fishfinder and a downimager (you can choose or split screen) and has dual freq. for the fishfinder part too. Does anyone have this unit? How do you like it? Last year's model was the Humminbird 570, so I'd be interested in your opinion on that one too. Thanks.

I have one on the front of my bass and it really serves me well. The transducer is on the trolling motor so I have no idea how it would work at higher speeds. It works great for locating fish and dropshopping. I have side imaging and gps on the back unit and don't know how I ever fished without it. I do not have the two tied together.
