Having been after pike for so long it was time to return to a river setting.

Saturday - Fished for 30 mins and managed this brown trout and lost a couple of other browns.

Then I got this surprise................

Never have got a rainbow torut out of the BCR

So I tried a brookie hole I knew of. Nope just spooked a few fish is all.

Tuesday - Fished 2 spots in just 1 hour. I managed this brown...

Then I lost 1 other brown and got a few good bites. Somehow I managed to spook over 20 fish during my time there. The flows are low and clear so stealth is important.

nice tdt, been fishing BCC alot the last 2 weeks and have been getting alot of trout on spinners and wooly buggers, i havent been in the canyon but more in holladay. a couple of weeks ago i was getting WB like crazy and then all of the sudden they are gone and now there are lots of dead ones, kinda crazy and i dont know why, bit if any body has any input on why that would happen please chime in. Also some big carp in there and they are fun on the flyrod. Nice job on the rainbow there too, ive caught a few at the bottom of the canyon over the years near the water plant. yours has some good coloration for sure.

thanks for the pics and post.

I've caught quite a few rainbows on BC but usually lower down the canyon from that spot.

I have caught a few over the years. But stealth is really important they get spooked easy. Nice pics

Judging from the heavy tail spotting, that rainbow has a lot of Bonneville Cutthroat genes in him.

That is clean right there....very nice!

I've caught rainbows there quite a ways up the canyon before. Not many though.

I was in Murray Park two days ago just looking to see if there were any fish spooking around. The only fish I saw was a white bass that appeared to be stuck in a bush. I rolled my pants up and went to rescue him. He wasn't stuck, he was just finding a place to die. He looked like he'd been dead for a week, but his brain just hadn't given up yet. I took him out, and at the advice of my five year old, we buried him in the sand along the bank. RIP.

Seems weird to find a WB there, but it seems that that is the norm? I have been fishing Utah waters for 30 years and this is the first year that I've ever seen/heard of white bass anywhere but the Jordan and UL.
