Taking a salmon ride.

I have been fishing for years in little sandy river in Plaski, NY...I go up in the fall when I'm told the Salmon are running... Boy hooking a 20- 30 lb King or steelhead Salmon in the river currant and you got a FIGHT ON YOUR HANDS, it is a blast, you have to try it. It is usally cold, snowy but it is worth the fun.
I got a call from my brother inlaw the last week in September this year and he told me the Salmon were starting to line up in Lake Ontario outside the rivers and streams and asked me if i wanted to try trolling for them this year. Didn't have to ask me twice I was gone the next day. What a five day trip. Big differance catching those guy in the lake than in the river. I can tell you hooking one of those 20_30 lb + Guys in 70 to 90 foot of water trolling IS a RIDE. WOW must really piss them off when they get hooked because they will strip off 75 to 250' of line in no time. You got to try it. The two of us ended up in three days with 14 fish all together 8 Kings, 4 Koho Salmon and 1- 9 lb lake trout. It is worth the trip. There are plenty of places in Plaski to camp or rent a room. For years thought river salmon was the ticket and it is, but out on Ontario is much more fun.
Better have a BIG Cooler

All Season sports on the main drag in Plaski will help you with what ever you need. Great people there.

Brian...

P.S I have picture to share if some one can tell me how I can post them ????

now your talking my kind of fishing !

i'm a rather new-be to the kings anmd coho this year , been doing a little steelheading for the last couple years thou .

it only took one headshaker to get me hooked on the salmon . what a ride ! i see all these guys slinging lead and there missing all the fun of catching these bueatiful fish on 6-8lb. test using a #16 beak hook .

shure it takes a little longer to get them in but that's the fun of it ! having a great fish to battle beats reeling in the little fish anyday !
