I just got back from Henry's and the lake temp was at 45 degrees the weather was in the upper 50's I know there is some cold weather in the forecast but nothing cold enough to make it freeze and be safe in two weeks just my opinion but I thought I would share some info in the event people had plans on going up.

Thanks for the report. I know there was some talk about it staying open year round has there been any more discussion or decision made ?

Just asked Dan Garren, no year round for 2013.

Thanks flygoddess Hopefully we will get some good ice before it closes for the year

I think it will be at least the first of December before there is safe ice. I'm still going up over thanksgiving with the family so I will get a better feel of it by then.

If I was to ever try ICE fishing, I think that would be a nice place to start.

As nice as you are to people on here I'm sure there are plenty of people who would show you the ropes. Your welcome to go and use my stuff any time I'm up there.

It'll freeze. It always does by T-day. Anyone recall when it hasn't in the last 10 years? I'll be there Friday after Thanksgiving on 4-6".

Well I hope that I am wrong but you have to remember thanksgiving is a week early this year and temps are going back into the 40's next year if you are on it during thanksgiving there's not a chance in hell your on 4 inches.

It is zero degrees in IP right now. There will be safe ice by Thanksgiving. Just my 2 cents. Curt G.

I don't know if it's true or not. But I heard that since Henry's Lake is now being managed just like a Utah lake, a person from Utah doesn't need an Idaho license to fish it.

It's shallow so it doesn't take long once the temps go below freezing!

HUH? Dan Garren is still managing Henry's. Idaho use to evaluate lakes every two years, but now it is three years. What exactly do you mean like Utah? Utah opened its Trophy Lakes to year round several years ago.

He's obviously baiting. Why reply to site pests and trolls?

Oh, you mean like all the Idaho Plates down at Lake Powell?[cool]

Back on track, it's making ice out there today. I wouldn't be surprised to be fishing kokes at Mackay in a week or two either!

Told ya, Liprippa![Wink][Smile]
