I posted earlier this year about a seat that I made for my daughter to sit on the front of my pontoon so we could go out together and fish and I just now uploaded the pictures off of that camera so I thought that I would let you all see what I did. I used 1in PVC and a stadium seat. I put velcro strips on the bottom and on my pontoon to keep it from sliding around and I extend the foot pegs all the way out so she has some place to put her feet.

That is very cool. I do have a couple questions. You had to slide "your" frame way back on the toons for balance, can you still strap it down?
And second, where do you put your feet to row?
Lastly, how long are your pontoons?

OH, and it looks like a harness to keep her in the seat, can she still wear a PFD?

my pontoons are 9ft and I did not slide my frame back she doesn't make that much of a difference when she is on. Now with my feet I just let them stay in the water. When I get tired of that I pull them out and put them along side her on the pontoon just to stretch them out. She is a trooper she went out with me for about 8 hours on ririe one day and was very mad when we started back for the truck but she was starting to get cold by the time we got out. I think that I could take her and put her out on the tips of my pontoon and turn her around and then maybe share the foot pegs. This would cut down on the drag from my feet. I did put a riser on my seat with a swivel so that I sit taller than her. It works great until the wind comes up then it gets pretty intense! No harness I took this picture right before she was going to pre-school so that is her back pack. I thought about putting a seat belt in at first but then thought "what if this tips over?" There is no way that she would make it! So she sits there and has her life jacket on ALL the time!

You know it is really great getting to do it with her. fishing from the dock is boring I'm not a big fan of waiting for fish to swim by! I like finding them! And trying to get a 4 year old down through the brush and up over hills is usually a lot more of a work out for me. By doing this she can go out and spend the day with me dong what we booth love, fishing!
