Hey, has anybody traveled the gravel/dirt roads around the Blackfoot Reservoir in the past few days? If so, do they look travelable in a pick up with four-wheel drive? I saw some nice 2 and 3 lb rainbows caught up there a week ago.

Went up there today. Road is fine ,a little muddy is all, even saw a Honda accord up there. Fishing was slow but the ones we caught were hard fighting three pounders.

Got worse in the evening. Especially if you were headed back to Idaho Falls, Temps warmed up and the mud thawed out. Was a muddy mess on the drive home from wacking and stacking quackers down on the river.

Just a heads up. The counties that maintain the roads to and around are only required to keep them open till Nov 30th. After that they leave the roads to Mother Nature and snowmobiles.

Caught this 6.5 pounder the other day out there. Cold day but it sounded like others were having some success as well.

Thanks DeCee. Did you make it out that way? If so, have any luck? I've heard that the ice is slowly setting in.

There were 3 boats out there a few days ago. It will be a while before there is any ice. All the snow that has come will make the roads tough.
