Full Version: Where Can I Get Chub Meat?

I fished Strawberry a few weeks ago and caught nothing but a cold. I have seen several posts regarding white tubes tipped with chub meat.

I have been watching some YouTube videos on how to fish with tubes, but I am also trying to find out where to get chub meat.

Do you purchase them at a bait store or catch them at Strawberry before fishing for trout?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

you could call sportsmans warehouse up and see, they have lots of different frozen minnows and cutbait. or try to catch some at the nelle.

Scofield and Strawberry have Chubs that can be caught using worms, Rather easily at Scofield. Might want to buy some at Sportsman's as mentioned above though to be sure you will have some. Here's a Chub at Scofield,

Good lord thats a big ol chub! ha ha ha. there are also tons of them in lost creek if you live up this way more.

What no one else made a chub joke on this thread yet........
I was at Strawberry last Sunday, pearl tubes with chub meat. Sportsmans has them or you can get them in Heber at the grocery store or the Sinclair?
A couple weeks ago 1/4 oz was the way to go but Sunday 1/8 oz let them sink slower and got more bites...might have to go again this weekend with all this nice weather.

You can also catch your own below the dam at Scofield. The water is literally black with them there. Last year a buddy and myself caught (by hook) and netted (with a net) a five gallon bucket full of them in less than an hour, and we've still got some in our freezers. HTH, Fred K.
