well I finally talked the old man into going fishing on friday, this will be the first time in awhile. I'm thinkin starvation with all these awesome bow reports and know he'd love getting into them. I have never fished there and just wondering any advice or general places from shore? We will be releasing all fish and just wondering if standard jakes, rapalas and tube jigs work well there? thanks for any advice and info. happy thanksgiving everyone and happy fishing

I've done well by the bridge for rainbows. South west side.

Or Rabbit Gulch for perch and bows.

Starvation has always treated me better than most other lakes have from shore!

Done well with power bait, worms, lures, just about anything that generally works well for trout in most places seems to work well at Starvation also.

Starvation does not have that you have to do it "just like this technique" that some other lakes seem to have at times. It is just a good fishing lake.

I really enjoy going to starvation because it is easy for me to get my kids 4,8,10 in large fish easily. I can get them set up with the bait of their choice and if I have time between tending the kids needs,(mending lines, unhooking fish) I can cast happily with a rap or spoon, or even drown my own night crawler.

I have never Ice fished Starvation but am really looking forward to it this year. Have a new Clam command post shelter that should take away some of the weather/ temperature risks of going for a two hour drive to go ice fishing with a four year old. The kids are all pretty tough but 15 mph winds on a 10 degree day While standing on a sheet of ice can be hard on a small frame!
