The big show up there that weekend?
[signature]
No, the once every two or three year show at Portneuf River Outfitters in Pocatello. My luck.
All the great fishing weekends always happened on the one weekend my band had a gig too[frown]

the way it always goes[:/]

Stepping on toes heavens no! Much appreciated actually. Been so busy lately I haven't been able to take a trip to the river let alone hit the vise. I'll for sure be there. I have around 6 or so aluminum fold up chairs if needed. I'm over in Syracuse so, if you need help setting up please let me know or if you think we'll need anything else.
Thanks again!

I don't tie any more, but will try to make it just to meet y'all.
If you need anything brought, let me know.

Awsome looks like we have a party started!!! While here you guys will have to check out the fly fishing/fly tying library I inherited from my dad...300 to 400 titles. A few rare books in the mix. we need a format as to what we want to do? I'll have my new 1 weight out for show and tell, put some line on it to play with.

Count me in, I am just down the road in Clinton as well.

I'll come for sure.
I am willing to help with whatever you might need.
Let me know.

I'm In too. This should be cool! I have fished with most of the people that have replied. All good people [
] this will be a good time.

Glad to have you! This is not only for fly tyers. While fly tying is the focus,Meeting those we have been chatting with for years is the most important part. If it wasn't cold and dark at 6:00 we would do some casting. Maybe I should get the wrapper out to show how to wrap guides on a rod also?

Hi James.
I have a suggestion for you.
Post this on the general fishing forum. More folks will see it there.
Also, you may want to open it up to folks that would like to learn how to tie a Pistol Pete.
I get some requests for this all the time.
I'll try to make it myself. Thanks for the great offer,
Dale.

Man! You are killing me. Of all the weekends......
You all have a great time as I know you will. Think of me LOL

That is starting to get a little too ambitious for me,it is after all a meet and greet for those that hangout on the fly fishing page. tying pistol pete's would be fun! good suggestion!

I can bring my rod im going to be building and you can use mine as an example if you want, i have never done it so I would love to see one done in person, its a 2wt 4 piece, I just need to get the glue and thread and I will be ready to go I think.

Don't forget cork reamer, unless it is a total kit and already sized.
Plus Flex Coating for thread and if you want the color of the thread to stay that color, you need a preserver.
A white pencil for marking the guides.
Do you want to wrap guides on the spine?
Razor blades and a thread Burnishing Tool.[

I do have everything you need to work on it,but the time is another question? we could set up 1 table committed to building of a rod. It would require another teacher to hang with that area as it requires someone to oversee the whole process.(mistakes can be costly)
If there is enough interest and someone willing to teach. Or we could get a group together on another night. Rod building takes a couple days to teach from start to finish.
On another note, in my cleaning to get ready I have found a bunch of fly catalogs... they will be fun to thumb through to get tying Ideas!!

This sounds more fun every time I read about it. Don't let it overwhelm you. It really is just a bunch of guys showing off their skills and a bunch of guys learning some new ones and most of us will be doing both on the same night.
That sounds like a good time had by all.
