We went searching for stripers on the river yesterday and spent about 8 hours driving and looking before we found the right conditions where there was a single fish. Weather was perfect with low wind conditions and the Fall colors looked great from the water.

Although it was slow getting started, we eventually caught 4 and lost one. All fish caught on bucktails in about 20ft of water and released to grow bigger.

As is typical with stripers there was no sign of the fish we had located this morning so we decided to give it a break with the 15mph winds and save our fuel for another day.

I hope to try again next weekend if the weather is right and then go back to some bull red fishing around Thanksgiving. Water temp was 58.
