What is the purpose of the several "Fish Report Archive" forums? They're all a year or so old, can't be posted to, and obviously aren't updated by anybody.
Genuinely wondering.

How wrong you are, they are updated monthy but only after a year, that way you can go back last year and see what happened but it is does take time to move the post and it isn't as if we are getting paid to do it. Maybe you would volunteer to do it in your spare time.[

] Wow, using to term czars makes me think you don't like us mods[unimpressed]. That is a negative term IMO.

I was a forum administrator once myself, and called myself the site czar. So no slight intended. If you felt that way, though, I apologize.
The reason for the forums is still a bit obtuse to me; I can't imagine why I'd want to hear "shoulda been here last year." But if other folks appreciate them, more power to them, and to you.
A sincere thanks for the effort it takes. As I say, I know what's involved.

It's so if you're planning to go somewhere in January, you can see what to expect from a trip in January.

Given the drastic changes we see in our lakes and streams from year to year, I'd call that reason (and I'll be very carefully polite here) illusory.
Okay, though. I've learned enough about this.
Rocky...out.

I don't think it is that drastic from year to year, it is nice to see what was happening at a spot last year so you can maybe see what to expect, same thing with keeping a journal.

My thoughts exactly. Year after year members ask the same questions, so if it helps even a few folks, it is worth it, imo.
