Fished Henrys Lake Saturday morning (North West area) and it was good. Caught half the fish jigging and half dead sticking. Meal worms seemed to do better than worms.

Jaw Jackers are working great for Henrys. Two of the guys with me are going to buy Jaw Jackers after seeing them in action.

Fish were up to 20 inches with most in the 16 - 17 inch range. We got a couple of nice brookies 18 - 19 inch range. Sorry no pictures the fishing was too fast to mess with getting the camera out.

We fished it yesterday too and had pretty much the same experience as you. Fishing was good all day and it was one of the best days I've ever had on the lake. Here's the two I decided to keep.

Nice fish! That is one fat hybrid...how much did it weigh? How much snow and did you have any trouble getting in?

I'm not sure how accurate my scale is (+ or -) but it said 3.5 lbs. Taped at around 19". Definitely a fat fish vs a long fish. Snow was fine on Saturday but it is hard to say how it will be after this storm passes through. I drive a 2WD pickup and just throw sandbags in and I get around fine. I plan on heading back up there on Wednesday so hopefully the snow isn't too terribly bad.

Thanks for the info! Good luck on Wednesday...may a fish twice as big devour your jig![Wink]

Took my daughter up there Saturday and my Brother brought along his two girls (their first time on the ice). We fished at the Wild Rose and fishing wasn't terrible hot for us. We caught plenty and the girls had a blast but I would say it was slower than usual for us. Part of it may have been the wind was blowing fairly hard and it was hard to detect the light bites, we did have a few times when a hungry school would come by and we had a couple of triples and doubles with several poles getting hit hard before we could get to them. Can't wait to get up there again.

I so need to get up there! Was going to go up on Saturday but got diverted to Salmon d/t my aunt and uncles house getting burned down. Figured I'd go Sunday instead but my son spiked a Fever over 101 F. I've since gotten what he has (flu, even despite the shot!). Now I'm supposed to work or do ski patrol through end of the month. Maybe I can break up there on New years day for a last minute attempt. Keep the great reports coming guys! They're giving me hope!

How thick was the ice? Would like to get out and try some deeper holes away from the bank, but they are so far out you need to pull your stuff with a snow machine or a wheeler, is it thick enough to do that? They say 6 inches and you can do that but I'm a chicken and like double that before I take expensive stuff out there. Thanks for info.

After last night , -26 degrees I think you would be safe . I was fishing the Hatchery Saturday and the ice was a solid 10" . Curt G.

There were 4 wheelers on the ice Saturday. I think the ice was around 7 inches where we fished. It should be thicker with the recent colder weather.
