[cool][#0000FF]Still open water from recent reports. But trout are about the only thing biting. Perch and walleye are deep and hard to find.
Starvation was late to freeze last year and never did ice up completely. There were open spots remaining from the first and the ice in the protected areas came off early with the wind.
Like other deep lakes, Starvation does not even ice up in some years. Got an even later start this year.

I was there last week Wednesday the 12th and it was completey open. One boat on the water. It appears the trout have moved away from the shoreline compared to where they were the week before. I guess their imitation spawning is over now.
Here is a link to weather cameras from the National Weather Service. It has a camera that takes pictures of the bridge that goes over the lake (Highway 40). It updates pretty often. As of yesterdays picture there was no snow in the area. This mornings picture appears to be foggy.

I think the camera must be covered with snow. We received about an inch hear in the basin. There is no fog. Yes, the lake is wide open and will probably be that way for a while.
