I've fished Mantua several times on the HD now, could be my favorite place. I always fish the west side by the parking lot and have good success with bows. I move out to the middle in that area and have been able to catch a good amount of perch, but i always see the majority of the folks fishing the south east side of the lake. Is it that much better and worth the move? I've been fairly happy with every trip, but wanted to hit the BTF UT for intel.

Just wanted to throw it out there and see what's up.

pm if it's secret...[Wink]

hopefully I'm not out of line by asking for info on perch @ the Port. I've fished by the dam and done ok around that area for bows nothing special. Also fished several times by the boat ramp and had very little action. I would love to find a place where i can find a few perch. I was looking at my topo map and saw a spot east of the dam in a little cove and on the point and break. My best Idea and i would really appreciate a tip of any kind.

Trying to get better every year! I'm gonna fish VERY hard this winter...win or lose.

Have you seen any ice forming yet? I'd think this chill snap should get things moving.

I've usually parked on the S end and walked out north ward from there, usually towards the knoll, but folks spread all over.

You have the inlet in the SE corner, and there there's a little trickle right up by the knoll. But then on the west you've got the outlet. So - flow.

I've often done well in spring north of the knoll but haven't ever ice fished up there. Seems like ledges and droppoffs - pockets in the weeds. Definitely lots of weeds!
