I have the Hero 2 and bought the WiFi remote. The H3 has it built in.

Gopro,I didn't know you were a HERO
Gopro's aren't even meant for fishing they have a wide field of view that make your catches look far away not only dat but make your fish look small!
Gopro are cool but are more for making surfing videos
Better to get a reg camcorder which actually has zoom unlike the "gopro" and something with a normal field of view.
The head cam is cool,it looks where you look what if a fish turns left or right and say its near the surface or jumps,I don't think your gonna paddle that fast to capture the shot LOL
If the fish always stayed infront of the boat I'd a mount the camera to the boat a long time ago!

The Gopro did not do that Smallie justice, its the wide field of view of the Gopro, unlike a normal camera the gopro distorts your video and gives it a weird bubble effect, and like I said has a wide field of view, wider than a reg camcorder...try to hold your catch closer to the camera next time to compensate for the wider field of view..
Head cam is cool I use one,but its not a gopro, its cool simply cause you can aim the camera by just turning your head[

Sorry, I use Scotty and yes a bit pricie but does what it is suppose to. I did use PVC for the extension to same some bucks, but the camera mount and the base are Scotty.
Ram is very pricie.

Nice I see you can change it from a wide angle to medium and even a narrow field of view![[Image: surprised.gif]](http://www.bigfishtackle.com/images/gforum/surprised.gif)

I guess it depends if you want to FILM yourself fishing or focus more on filming FISH
I choose head-cam to film fish, but the idea of me in front of the camera doesn't sound so bad,if you like I'll film myself more instead of the FiSh[crazy] haha!
Heres a NEW video my biggest for the year!
using a head cam with zoom plus macro mode for close ups and guess what.Gopro's have no ZOOM so its not a Gopro camera![:p]
Thats the only thing I don't like about them, they should make the new ones with a zoom and maco function for close ups, like a camcorder, its what I use to film fishing[
]
head cam camcorder using full zoom at 1:14 plus switching to macro lens function at 1:45 "flower mode"
macro lens for close up "unedited footage"

Problem with head mount is every time you turn your head even slightly, the camera turns. I hate that. Chest mount better, but can get in the way of hands. Over the shoulder shows every thing involved with landing. How do we know you landed the fish? [

Good point.I'll work on that by looking around with my eyes instead of turning my head, and as for the landing,I'm scared when looking down the camera may slide off! [frown]
Thanks for watching, hope you catch that World Record fish on FLY!

I understand. And normally, the ice did not bother me, but this year with many, many days in the single digits and minuses, the chunks of ice in the rivers is a downer.
So basically, it isn't the ice that bothers me, it is the temps !

I hear that, typicaly, I prefer days above 15*
its the 60* days that are killing me here, I got run off the lake last night by rain and thunder clappers, today more rain and about a foot of water above the ice.

Hey Dave, don't you know how to get a ° ?
It's ALT plus keypad 248. (Not the typewriter numbers across the top.)
For a long list of special characters, go here:
