This is usually a great report, I am typing a quick one just so that I may save some people some gas money. My son and I fished Mackey from sunnrise to 12:30 with one bow to account for our efforts. Fished in 30 feet of water, with kokes maybe coming through for 15 seconds. Ice is 4-5 inches near boat ramp. Thought Fish Creek would be great, first ones on the ice at this place 7 inches of ice, but only two small brookies for two hours of fishing. We usually do well on our annual Solstice trip, this year, however, will be one for the poor performance record books. I hope Mackey picks up, I know it can have the occasional slow year.

Best,

Thanks for the report. I'm kind of glad I didn't read it before I went yesterday. The fishing wasn't fast for us, but I'm still glad I went beautiful country. Its been a long time since we encountered each other on the ice. I will be down at Deep Creek, Chesterfied, maybe Montpelier next week. Again thanks for sharing.

Yeah--your report was a bit better than mine--I was tempted to stay a bit longer, as the kokes sometimes cooperate in the afternoon , however, Fish Creek was calling. Checked the stocking reports for Fish Creek, and guess what nothing for 2012, made me feel a little better about my efforts. At least we were not skunked. I may be down south near New Year, I have to put on a Boy Scout ice fishing clinic later this week. I look forward to read about your family trip every year.

Best,
