Decided to see if the latest cold weather put a cap on Oakley, there wasn't even hardly a trace its also very very low the places we were fishing last year don't even have any water. the road in is ice covered and very slick. you don't realize how steep they are till your sliding down them. Give it another couple weeks and then i will take the atv up to the goose creek end and see how far you have to go to get to water and if its froze, I would have done it today but the chains were home in the shop.

I might need to come fishing with you when it freezes. Ice fishing has never been productive for me. Ron

Thanks for the update!

I had fun fishing trapper creek arm last year catching trout but didn't accomplish my goal of catching a walleye through the ice. Maybe this year!

Went to the upper end of goose creek this morning and water is about a mile from the end of the road. just a long twisty channel took the atv about as far as you could go. Including a sketchy creek crossing lol, we were fishing up here last year on 16 foot of water [Sad]

the good news is reservoir is almost capped completely [cool] 2 inches of ice almost every where a little thicker down by the dam.

Thanks for the report I posted one on Carey and am waiting to hear from anyone about Magic especially if anyone is catching perch.

Impressive to see the drastic changes that a bad water year can make right after a good water year.

I can help a little on that question about magic. fished around biscuit island and it was good, several nice bows in the 16-18 inch range and it was pretty steady most of the day. we were fishing in about 6 feet of water. we did manage to land about a dozen perch but they were pretty small, didn't keep any and they were super light biters.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for taking the time to write a good report with pics. I still have never been to goose creek. So many places....so little time.

You guys are very welcome and if you ever want to give it a try let me know [cool] thanks also for the other reports [fishon].
crazy how low it is but may make ice conditions a little better as the whole thing never got caped last year there were boats out 500 yards from where we were ice fishing on the trapper end.
