I've been mulling the prize business over and I think it would be a really neat idea (if it's not already been or being done) to award gift certificates redeemable at ANY of our sponsors shops.

Will be a great way for me to post pics all year long so you all won't worry about me and my health! Might just have to make a trip to the coast for a big one just to show you all I still am an angler and still can land a big one!
Let's see: I got the 25' tape measure in the box, got the gear with the box and I got the willingness to go out and do it. Now all I need is the finances and some realy good bait! Shot, I got a couple of months to work on that!
I'm in this one if I make the trip or not this year!
Now for a prize?
A custom built BFT 30lb trolling rod to replace mine as it has grown legs while I was in the hospital! Got to say it was the best rod I have ever had too!
In reality any custom BFT rod would help my angling skills at this point!

An all seasons derby sounds good to me....a digital camera to post photos with...hmmmmm, sounds like a good prize idea! Boating gear, life jackets, fishing equipment, etc. It's easy to think up good prizes for a fisher!

A split tourney would be nice for those not able to get to the big salt waters. Maybe fresh, combination fresh and salt and salt. 1st 2nd and 3rd postions in all and then a overall grand grand winner. Maybe some minnie tournaments thrown in the mix, Like a week here and another week someways down the line with prizes for minnie tournaments. Or maybe pick a fish species for a certain week and the biggest one wins. Just ideas. Chief

I have noticed the comments here and it realy looks like a split contest for freshwater and for saltwater would realy make many happy. I do also agree with that as it would level the fields for others that could not be able to head to the coast to atemp a big fish like a Ray that took first and second in length for the last event.
