Ice fished Carey Lake yesterday right at the boat ramp. There was at least 7" of ice there and we landed arounde 15 perch ranging from 7"-9" using a small jig tipped with a worm.

Needed an ultra light rod to see the nibbles and if you didn't watch your line you missed when it went slack or statred moving to the side of the hole.

Sorry never took any picuters[:p][fishin]

Good report. It is nice to know that the perch are still doing good in there.

Did you catch any Blue Gills, or do they hang out in the hot spring?

We only caught perch and only were in the one spot. I hope to go back and move a round some to see if I can find some gills.

I am also trying to find out if the Bruneau ponds have or do freeze over and if it does try to ice a few of those gills.

I was going to ask you if you could find out some info for me concerning Stone as I would really like to find some crappie. Anything you know would be helpful.

It was a blast at Carey and you could go home with a few perch for sure.

Good report. I have tried Carey on ice but it wasn't nice. I have never caught a fish through the ice. Ron

I fished it from a float tube years ago but haven't ice fish it ever. Probably would be a blast.
