Hi, just wondering if anyone here has been out on Newton over the past few days. Thinking of going tommorrow and just curious about the conditions.

I've been on it. Ice is good. I am heading there in the morning. It's still low, so the hike back up suck. Skunkedagain was out there yesterday. I was last out there Wednesday. But with the temps we have had here in the valley, the nice will only be harder and a little thicker.

3-4" of clear solid ice with about 3-4" of now frozen slush and about 1-2" of snow...easy walking.

Thanks for the info guys I really appreciate it, I was thinking of going to Mantua until I read your report Bama. I must admit that I, in my younger days was probably one of the inconsiderate ones but I think I've grown up since then. Anyway I will probably hit Newton around 2:00ish tommorrow, if your still there I will know the fishing is good. I was going to stay in the Bear Lake area tommorrow but my Bro wants to go.

Newton was slow this morning. Even if it was going well, I probably wouldn't have stayed much past noon. Good luck out there. We did find a few keeper perch and on keeper bass. I got into some crappie, but nothing over 5 or 6 inches.
