Had a great first outing with friends. Played with new toys...still a learning curve on camera orientation. Have a few tricks up our sleeve for next outing and hopefully better video thanks to another angler...but not bad for the first lil Dora (crappie)...it was also cool seeing the lil critters in the water...anyway here's the first underwater video using this camera and we really like it...I'm sure once we get it totally figured out will be an awesome piece of equipment...
Hope I got the BFT linking to youtube vids done right...

Those cameras look fun. I watched some videos on them, and I was jealous. [

Cool video, though. Maybe someday I can get one to play with.

The way that I like to hang my camera so that it isn't laying on the bottom is to put a spring clamp on the wire and set a board across the hole to hold the clamp. Then with just moving the clamp around to find you lure and you are in bussiness.
If the water is darker I clamp one of those bottom finding sinkers that I have painted white for it to stand out. Then send the lure down and start watching some of the best TV that there is. Your own personal fishing show.

I got one of the dialup-disks to hold the cable, so you get your depth set, then you can spin the disk to rotate the camera. But it's awkward to be so low to do it.
Drafting plans to concoct a rack/holder for both camera and finder, also set the dial-disk up higher for easier access.
Had been plunking three holes - putting the camera in the center, but then you can only see on jig/hole. Thinking to try the three in a row - with camera at one end. But (depending on water clarity) visibility usually isn't too far.
Nice K2 - so that's got the built in DVR you posted about before? Lot clearer that my low-end one. Kewl to see those curious fishies come up and check out the lens! (or the trout blast through - kick up the mud, and spin the camera willy-nilly!). Little fish SURE can look big when they're right in your face! (so to speak)

We have done that at Fish Lake where the water was realy clear. It did work but we found that with the wide angle of the camera that the far jig (depending on the size) was little more that a dot on the screen and needed to be a bright color. We found that we felt the hit before we could tell by the camera.
The one thing that dissapointed me was that the lights on these cameras are almost worthless. They white out the close particles so much that it makes it hard to se much else.
But they are fun to play with.

Yep its the same camera I mentioned here a few months ago. Its a very nice little camera and this year the Aqua-Vu mini was upgraded to include the DVR...past minis you couldn't record.
I got tips from another angler on orientation of camera and keeping the cable from spinning. Because the cable is very small in diameter a clamp would crush the fiber optics...so going to use a clothes pin...ops checked here at house and clothes pin works great.
So we shall see come out next adventure...[

get the little disk that was mentioned to be able to turn the cable when you want and to keep it from spinning out of control, they're only like ten bucks and a life saver. Also cabelas has two automatic camera cable turners that are remote and well worth the money.

I tried the automatic camera cable turner that came with my LX-9. It certainly turns the camera just fine, but the way it holds the cable means you have to lift it and reposition the cable to put it at a different depth. That might not matter much since at least the blue gills in Sandy pond liked just one depth. But, I want to look closely to see how to modify it to be easily able to take up or give cable slack for small adjustments in camera depth. Maybe that's not needed. I'll use it more and see.

I have the tripod and little disk that I had for my other 'larger' underwater fish camera...the cable on the Aqua-Vu mini is very small and I already tried the tripod and disc...camera cable is way small for the slot...the camera cable is maybe 1/32 diameter if that and rated for 22#. When I say the cable diameter is tiny, its tiny no where near the diameter of other camera cables...thanks for the other info though.[
