Headed to Ririe this morning after sending the kid off to school. arrived around 9 am. wandered around and talked with a few people already there and one group had a trout and a decent perch (about 10"). They didn't have anything else though. The second guy I talked to got some nibbles shortly after I arrived so I set up the flasher and we identified it was around the 20 ft mark. He hooked it twice but it got off then went away. I ended up setting up next to him and had a good long chat. I landed a decent rainbow after a bit and had something on the bottom that would look at my lure but wouldn't commit. After a couple hours I did get one to commit and landed a 6" perch. Other than that had a few more non-commital perch and a couple loners that passed through but would take off when I adjusted my lure depth. Never did get hit. Around 1 pm wandered out by the line and the gent out there landed a trout and a really nice koke, but he also had had no other luck. None of us marked any schools of fish. As for ice it was singing and popping but it was all 4-6" thick. One guy said he found a spot towards the dam little bit that was 3.5" but that was the thinnest.

I was also out there today...got set up around 10:30. Had a few bleeps on my fish finder and a few right at my hole that the finder didnt pick up. I ended up with a 13 inch rainbow...no kokes [frown].. The total depth where I was fishing was 21 feet and the rainbow I caught was about at 3 feet...I was in my shelter, so I was able to watch it take my jig. I called it a day around 4:00.....today was a good practice run for setting up and taking down my shelter...fishing will get better (fingers crossed)!!
