I have an 18 V DeWalt and used it for an 8" Auger...this was in Wisconsin and generally were drilling 20" of ice per hole. one battery would last about 2 holes. I decided to buy a used gas auger after one trip out. My cordless drill smells like I burnt the brushes now every time I use it. I generally push equipment to the limit, and I think I went a little too far with the cordless
just my humble opinion
