Man the wife wants to go to Lake Mead in April. She won't have to twist my arm very hard.
Just wanted to ask if there are extra fees for out of state boats or any other requirements I need to know? Fishing permits will be $32 each. Marina fee?
I want to get my budget in order for the trip. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Good time of the year! Last April the Smallies were on the beds and a HOOT to catch left and right.
Something new this year and applicable to you for Nevada waters in general.

Fishing license wise there is more to it. You will need a Nevada license plus a Lake Mead/AZ use add-on. Whatever they call it.
No ramp fees but there is a daily entrance fee into the park. I buy mine as a annual but you can get a 1-7 day pass for $26 bucks. ($10 for your truck and $16 for your boat.)

One way to beat that all together... Go fishing early. I never got checked once in the last 360 days out there. I guess I go fishing too early for the rangers since the booths are never open at the hours I head out there. If you hit the check station and it is closed just keep on trucking. No envelopes, etc.

Actually I was just looking at the licensing... I wonder if you can get away with the new for 2012 $29 dollar annual license? Not sure how that one works? Might have to look into that one myself for when company comes out here! Sure beats $18 a day for a Nevada license plus $3 for the special use stamp. 3 days the old way for a non-resident is 21x3 or $63 bucks. If $29 gets one on the lake unlimited for a year that is a smoking deal if I am reading into this license correctly.
Nonresident 1-Day Fishing Permit
Valid until midnight of the day specified. Does not require Trout Stamp.
$18.00
Nevada Colorado River Special Use Stamp/Privilege
(For Nevada Licenses) used for fishing on the bi-state waters or the Arizona shores.
$3.00
Nevada Interstate Boundary Waters License - New to 2012!
Annual nonresident fishing license to fish solely in reciprocal waters of the Colorado River, Lake Mead and Lake Mohave (14 years of age or older) and Lake Tahoe and Topaz Lake (16 years of age or older).
$29.00

The end of April last year it was teetering on the edge of 100 degrees out. Zero wind, glass for water, zero clouds... Be prepared sunscreen wise and a huge cooler full of ice cold water!

Thanks for the info, the $32 was the $29 license + $3 interstate permit. If your not on interstate water then the cost goes up, the 18$ one day plus 7$ additional days up to seven may apply. I think the yearly out of state license is $69. The out of state AIS decal is $20. Hope the fishing is as good this year.
Thanks again, would love to go now it's snowing and expected to get 8 more inches by morning here in cache valley.

+1 on going out early, i cant remember the last time i paid a fee at the lake. Besides you gotta get there early enough to pounce on that morning bite.

only thing that sucks is if you have to run into town to get something and forget you didn't pay in the morning...lol happened a few times to me, thank god i had cash.
