In all my years fishing my lunch break creeks, I've caught a ton of browns, 10x that in white bass, several bluegill, a few sunfish, and 2 rainbows.
That's quite the pile 'o species to keep me entertained, but today I actually caught a cutthroat!
Talk about cool!
I received some news earlier today that already had me in a great mood, but this was just icing on the cake.
A few minutes later, I pulled a tiny white bass from the same corner of that same hole.
Awesome lunch break.
Happy Fishing, Humans.

Don't hold out on us LOAH, did you win the lottery or something?

A lottery of kindness, perhaps.[

A very kind soul took pity on my broke arse and bought me a Nils 8". It should deliver next week sometime.
I'm very blessed.[angelic]

Excellent. You deserve it from posting such great stories and pictures.
The thing I like about you is you are not a fishing elitist like so many people have become.
You fish with whatever tackle is needed and in such odd spots to help our fishy friends have an out of the water experience.

I agree I am glad you are getting a new auger just so we can read more of your posts!

And I'm glad you registered so you could tell me!
Thanks. It's really a very nice gesture and totally unexpected. The people of these online fishing forums are some of the greatest folks this world could hope to grow.

What a sweet place to catch that cutt. That's awesome about the auger too. You deserve it.

You definitely have a cooler workplace location than I do. I'm excited when I catch a chicken que
illa on my lunch break.

Your urban fishing is inspiring. If you have any suggestions for around SLC, I'd be happy to take them in a PM
.
Seriously though, how do you find these places to fish? Mental notes when you drive by or are you first doing a little map research?

Not to "hot spot " here but where can you fish at lunch and not have snow and ice to contend with? Are you indoors? [crazy]

Hey with that new auger he will be fishing the ice trays in the freezer and still catching nice fish. LOAH nice job and congrats, I'm happy for ya and still jealous you have way better lunch breaks than I do. Keep it up I love your reports later J

Well right after I started working where I do, a guy that was "training" me noticed that I was hopelessly addicted to fishing.
He decided to take me over to one of those spots on lunch break and swore up and down that there were fish in it.
Soon enough, I was out there trying it and hooked into a fat rainbow.
The rest is history. It actually sparked a big interest in small, overlooked streams, ditches, and out of the way ponds.
Now I see water and make a mental note to try it sometime. More often than not, I get some validation for my efforts.

The pics don't show the snow all around the area, but this was the downstream side of a culvert where a creek flows under the road in PG.
It's on the other side of the road from where I caught my huge walleye, last year. It's also the first place I ever tried fishing on that creek.
