I took 2 of my kids and brother with me today to pineview. I felt like a proud father. The kids had a wonderful time and the weather cooperated.

Upon arrival we immediately determined we forgot our live bait. A kind gentlemen and his lady friend offered up some of their bait as they departed. I attached a picture of him holding up his catch in a bucket. Pretty good size.

Our catch however was smaller. We had about 2 hours of fishing time and left home with about 14 perch. The largest being 7.5 inches. My brother kept 3 and we ate the rest for dinner. Small but tasty. Smile

I tested out my MarCum LX-9 sonar/video combo. It was a blast. We witnessed a very curious tiger muskie swim up to the camera, acted like a movie star and hogged the camera then slooowwwllly swam past. It's eye was right up to the camera. I just wish I had it recording. After that incident, I immediately enabled the DVR functionality. My brother took a break from focusing on the fishing and captured me catching a perch on video as the day was just ending. I attached it to this post.

Location / Bait: Cemetery point. About 40 yards south and 27 feet down. Used Small jigs tipped with worm. I didn't measure but ice seems over 5". A 4 wheeler was out earlier.

Enjoy the pics of Pineview, fish, dinner, and the video.

K2Muskie - We had to use a manual auger this time. The propane auger had a gas leak in the line (defect crimping) and they are sending me another by the 22nd. I considered using another 4 stroke petroleum gas jiffy auger, but the sales rep says he would never go back to using one after he used Propane. He goes fishing 3x a week before work and says he loves not dealing with priming, fuel smells, chokes, etc. He says that it just works and believes the one I purchased was a fluke melon.

My next outing when the propane auger arrives, I'll video it for you so you can see how it performs. Also, I'll give a more in-depth review after 2 or 3 trips. Hopefully by then I can see how many holes can be created with 1lb of propane.

Thanks and my bad as I misread your post about the auger. I've seen a couple videos on the propane and its the added weight of the auger that is keeping me from getting one. I believe what I read is they are like 32-34 lbs whereas my ole strikemaster is like 22-24 lbs...

Taking it you went where I suggested CP parking lot and off the south side based on your pics. Hoping for a trip or two to PV in the very near future. Thinking them larger Perch gotta be in there somewhere just have to find the larger striped critters. The last 3-4 years now PV has been on a decline for larger Perch think'n its has to be rebound time just need to locate where the big'n hang out...

Again glad you and the kids had fun at PV and thanks for the post, pics and video...looks like a nice day for sure.

Welcome to the site RL38, good for you, helping SaltH2OFish out. From your cooler of fish, it looks like you did ok, were any over 9 inches?
