The WI Department of Natural Resources is seeking a qualified law enforcement professional to be the Digital Data Investigative Administrative Warden. This position primarily conducts environmental investigations for seven counties in the southeast portion of the state but has a<br />
location choice of Headquarter Offices ( Milwaukee, Fitchburg, Eau Claire and Green Bay), or in the Bureau of Law Enforcement Central Office in Madison.<br />
Job Duties:<br />
This position within the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is a full time credentialed law enforcement position responsible for conducting investigations as requested by the Department. This position is primarily responsible for seizing, processing, and analyzing the digital data seized in environmental, resource, and other investigations undertaken by the Bureau of Law Enforcement.

The position works closely with central office staff, regional law enforcement staff, environmental staff, and designated field personnel. As the Digital Data Investigator, this position will assist other investigators and wardens with ongoing investigations into environmental and resource related investigations. The Digital Data Investigator will provide valuable service to the primary investigator and will also assist in developing court ready prosecution documents. As a primary investigator, this position will direct and investigate cases that will be referred to the Attorney General's office, United States Attorney's office or District Attorney's office for prosecution. The position responsibilities also include information analysis and problem identification/solving. The position is responsible for training of field wardens, other Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) environmental enforcement and standards personnel and other government agencies in identifying and handling violations. The position coordinates training between the environmental and law enforcement staff to further the understanding of the various functional responsibilities. This environmental warden will provide service in all regions of the state to conduct (or assist) in environmental enforcement investigations, resource related investigations, or other DNR investigations requiring the specialized expertise and skills of this position

Special Notes:

Applicants must meet the following qualifications: 1) at least 21 years of age upon application. 2) No unpardoned felony convictions or convictions of domestic violence laws. 3) Successful completion of a background investigation, swim test, Clinical Functional Capacity Test, psychological testing, drug screen and medical examination. 4) Certified or ability to be certified as a Law Enforcement Officer by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board OR certified as a law enforcement officer in another state, OR completion of at least 2 years of higher education (at least 60 college credits) and 2 years (at least 4000 hours) of work experience as a law enforcement officer certified in Wisconsin or another state. 5) Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license throughout employment. NOTE: the educational institution must meet U.S. Dept. of Education accreditation standards.

Law enforcement and its application to natural resources protection.<br />
Ability to work independently and within groups/teams with internal staff, external partners.<br />
Demonstrated ability to work with other law enforcement agencies on joint law enforcement operations.<br />
Coach, mentor, and train other wardens with ongoing investigations that involve digital data that may be evidence.<br />
Ability to provide technical services to seize, preserve, duplicate, and analyze the data to assist the investigators.<br />
Ability to conduct investigations into violations of Wisconsin's environmental statutes and administrative codes as the primary investigator.<br />
Ability to detect, seize, copy, analyze, preserve, and maintain digital data as evidence from digital electronic storage devices, including: computers, data drives, data disks.<br />
Ability to enforce laws pertaining to the protection of public health, safety and water supplies.<br />
