I would like to first commend all that come to this site for your continued efforts to keep things positive. We get into it once in a while but not very often.
So here is one that chaps my hide!
First of the year I added up all my tags and permits that I had in my pocket and it added up to about $325 in fees, but you know what, that
's ok, I made the choice to do those things so I paid for them. But the one that gets me is having to pay 3 dollars to get into Ririe and 5 during the weekends to icefish. That's just wrong! So last winter I decide to park over by the dam, you know, turn in first turn, go right, park down by locked gate and walk down and across dam. I wanted to ice fish around the cement turrent and it's a long walk from boat landing. Well got back from fishing and there is a note on my windshield with a pay envelope. It stated that he had wrote down my license plate and just because I had parked over there doesn't mean I can get away without paying and being he knows who I am he will make sure I am ticketed if I don't adhere to the rules. After foul words under my breath I proceeded to put 300 penny's that were in my consol in the evelope, yes they will fit, inserted the note with a comment on the rudeness and indicated that he could go pound sand.
Yes That's What Chaps My Hide, How About You?

I don't think he can charge you for parking along a public highway. People do it all summer long just above the ramp to the dock.

I'd have to agree - that would chap me too. I'd contest that one any day of the week!

People who leave garbage on the ice. Picked up a water bottle, frozen worms, and meal worms last weekend at Ririe. The meal worms were under the snow but the bottle was on top.
I haven't bought a year pass since the broke it into two seperate ones. They would rather have my $15 daily fee than my year pass fee. I have been to many other places that are free since they changed it. I can't believe they charged you for parking on a public road. Their receipt does say "Parking Fee"

Couple bucks is a small price to pay for a paved parking lot, a shitter and trash service, however parking by the road should be free. I always buy a permit for the areas I fish and park my pickup and trailer. Usually fee areas don't have the unsavory types. What chaps my hide is people that fish from the dock and then won't move and give me the stink eye when I load/unload my boat. Last year at Anderson Ranch the whole club had envelopes placed on the windshields by the Forest Service. I always figured my boat registration provides the dock so I should get a free parking spot. Walcott is a state park so there is a fee and then make sure you park in the lot and not by the ramp or they will give you a $15 ticket. You can't see the lines on the pavement for the snow this time of year.

We were duck hunting a public res. in the preston area this fall and had a land owner come and kick us off saying they owned to were the current water was. I believed it was the high water the lady began yelling cursing and basicly ripping me a new you know what.... She threatened to call the f&g and the whole 9 yards. being a resivore not a stream i wasnt possitive on the rules so i picked up our decoys and moved. When we left I did call the f&g office to clarify. They did tell me i would have been fine, and that they were going to send a officer to the land owners house. But this insident realy chapped my hide!....

Ha ha ha @ Catmaster - that's awesome. I'm with you.

What chaps my hind end is no limits on Perch, Crappie, and catfish. I think that they have been exploited well beyond what should have been. When we talk about planted catfish we are talking about a limited resource. Why is there no limit? Oh ya and Obama. Ron

If you love spot so much make him stay with you .It gets so bad at ririe by season end that you have to watch where you drill

Now that you mention it. People that have their dogs swim with them as they fish in a float tube or pontoon piss me off. About half the time the dog wants to climb on everyone there. I tell my son that if a dog goes to climb on whip him with the rod. Ron

Several years ago I was fishing on Clark Canyon Res. in a 30 knot wind, and dropped an expensive glove, which the wind immediately whisked away. I tried chasing it down, but it was apparent that I couldn't catch it. I saw that it was going to pass close to where some people were fishing, and I hollered at them. They made a stab at catching it, but was too late. I waved them off and turned around and started back to my group, who gesticulated enough to tell me to turn back around. The guy who tried to catch my glove had pulled his black Lab out of his camper shell, and sent him to chase down the glove. That was one day that I was glad that there was a pooch on the lake.

a few years ago we had a guy fishing next to us on the clearwater with his lab. between all of us we broke off about 3 or 4 floats. every time, he'd send in the dog. we got all of them back....and managed to catch quite a few steelies.
