My nephew and I met some other guys from BFT at the boat ramp yesterday and went looking for perch, guided by the Pikeman. Several other people from the Odgen area couldn't make it because of the icy roads. We went to the Knight Hollow/ Salarus area and found some perch in the 40 - 45 ft. water. One of the guys from Price ( TOP H2O ) brought some perch chowder and smoked trout for lunch. It was nice to have a hot lunch on the ice, and the chowder was great! I brought home 29 perch and 2 rainbows, caught 6 rainbows but only 2 wanted to get smoked. The other guys did as well or better than I did. Weather was above 0 for the first time this year, pleasant 29 in the afternoon.

] thanks Pikeman99 and Toph2o and all the other guys for the good time and good company! Had a great day pounding the perch at Starvy. Thanks to Uncle Wyoguy too for being a great friend and fishing partner. Got into some really nice perch and a few of those Starvy Stealheads! Can't wait to get out again.

Another nice starvation post and pics Gary, thanks for posting. Those starvy perch make the PV perch look pretty sick. Did Glenn or anyone for that matter, catch any eyes on this trip?

Nope Curt, no eyes, lots of steelhead and perch is all.

AWESOME GARY et al sure wish we could've joined you folks but down here is was PURE NASTY road conditions. We really wanted to try the Perch Chowder and other eats...even bought K2 treats to go along with the eats others brought...bummer BIG TIME to say the least. Just err'd on the side of caution for us inversion socked folks. Glad you all had a FANTASTIC TIME and for sure we have to plan a make-up trip [
]...if you all are willing. We were so looking forward to this outing the entire week but Mama Nature down here threw a towel into the ringer [mad] Thanks for the report of what we MISSED...I see a make up trip in the making though....I hope you all would be willing... [

It was nice to fish with you guys . I will second it on the chowder it is second to none. We will have to do it again so the other half can have a chance to make it.

It was certainly fun watching you guys catch all those perch. I had to act like I was fishing so you guys wouldn't feel sorry for me. The real reason I was so challenged on the perch catching is that the perch in the lake could smell the souls of their relatives in the chowder I was heating up on the stove. It was their way of getting even with me for taking 32 of their friends to the hereafter in a bath of veggies and cream.
Thanks to Pikeman for the use of his ATV and JUMBO sled to haul the camp kitchen. We will have to do it again soon so the others can join us. I just hope we can have such a nice weather day again. It's always a treat when the holes don't ice up every few minutes.
