I fished Jordanelle this past weekend, it was a bit slow but produced fish. Ice conditions were good with 8-11 inches of ice with a few exceptions. I found spots that were not as thick and even a few spots that had open water. Don't assume that its safe based on what another report says. Its better to be safe than sorry....
Perch were all over the place from 12 fow to over 50. Nothing bigger than 9 inches, but I don't target the perch there due to rumors of high levels of mercury and not wanting to eat them. I got into a few nice cutthroats and browns as well. The cutts were in about 30-40 fow and hitting near the bottom. Browns were in about 50 fow suspended at 30-40. Small tubes and puppet minnows did the trick. I moved around to find the aggressive fish
This is the biggest I caught this weekend. 25" 6 pounds.

The biggest cutt was around 18" and feisty. The brown had some awesome color and great fight. It is still swimming to be caught once again.

I know the consumption advisory is there with browns and smallmouth but it didn't mention perch. If tere safe to eat I could use some perch I haven't targeted any this year and I'd rather not drivel clear to pine view of the numbers are good in the nelle

If you feel ok about eating perch from jordanelle its a great place to go get some. You may have to search around to find the better size and the biggest I have found so far is 9" but it seems that they are almost everywhere I have dropped a line from 10-55 fow. Anybody have thoughts as to why the perch would not have a mercury advisory? I know that brown trout eat perch and if brown trout have high levels....

The problem with mercury is that it takes the body a long long LONG time to get it out of their system. As the larger fish eat up the smaller fish the mercury levels rise much quicker to dangerous levels than they do in smaller fish.
