Been wanting to catch some nice browns. How do you target them ice fishing. Depths, bait, lures, and so forth?
I've only caught them with flies in the open water.
Thanks,

No help from me sorry lol. But this has been on my mind too. There are some MONSTERS in Jordanelle. 0 idea how to target them though. If there anything like other trout a tube jig tipped with a minnow will work. Finder would be key to see the mid depthers running around. As far as where? If I find out I'll shoot you a PM

Looking for brownies with a signature that says "trout suck" LOL.
I caught 2 Browns today and both came off the bottom in 22 feet of water. Got them with a swedish pimple with a waxie.

I've never actually targeted the browns but I know they stay down on or close to the bottom wherever the perch are because they feed on them. So, the best way to get one is to find some perch and fish for them using perch meat and get lucky. Most the bigger browns I've caught while fishing for perch were during the last hour of light too. If I wanted to target them I'd fish down there by the perch using perch colored jigging shad rap tipped with some perch meat.

Anyone had any luck for browns at Hyrum or Porcupine?
