Took the older scouts out to Mackay today. THICK ice, all snow covered. We almost needed an auger extension up closer to the bank. Arrived around 9:30 to fast fishing for kokanee. The fish are almost all small this year. Biggest was probably 12". Also picked up one 12" skinny brookie, a 16" bow and a couple other smaller bows. Caught cokes in just about any depth of water. Trout were close to the bank. It was a beautiful day to be on the water with bluebird skies. It was warm and the breeze only started to pick up when we were packing up around 2. The bite died around 12.

I was up there last weekend with my kids. Slow fishing on Sat and Sun. But it picked up real nice on Monday. We had our limit of kokes in about 3 hours over by the dam.
