I have always wanted to go up to wyoming and do some ice fishing.. Has anyone ever been up to Lake Viva naughton or fontenelle reservoir or even the kemmerer city reservoir? I have heard there are some nice sized fish in those reserviors. Just wondering about the ice fishing.. Any info would help a bunch.. Thanks

There' an ice fishing derby at Viva Naughton on the 16th this month. I fished in that one a couple years ago in a blizzard and didn't do well but if you are interested in that, check with the Lions Club there in Kemmerer.

I've fished Fontenelle a few times. Only for burbot tho. We did well. Our biggest last trip was 8lbs or so. It had a 16 inch Smallie in its belly!

when was the last time you went up there? I am thinking of going in the next few weeks. I am thinking the ice would still be good up there with highs in the low 30s and low single digits at night? What do you think? Does the ice form pretty good up there? Where were you fishing from? do you know the depth of the water or good spots that you have heard for trout.? Sorry thats a lot of questions in a paragraph....
Thanks

I reside in Wyoming, so all of my ice fishing this year has been in W-Y-O.
There are nice fish in Viva Naughton, and Fontanelle. The Gorge is always a top destination too.
Some other places you might consider include Sulphur Creek Reserovir outside of Evanston. Boysen Reservoir (it is quite a bit further than any of these other lakes but lots of nice eyes, perch, cats and crappie.
There are many other lakes I could point you toward, but not knowing how far you want to travel and for what species makes it tougher.
