Southold, NY - January 31, 2013 - Sea Tow Services International Inc., the nation's leading on-water assistance provider, is pleased to announce its new partnership with celebrity fisherman Bill Dance. Sea Tow will sponsor the angler's highly popular TV shows, "Bill Dance Outdoors" and "Bill Dance Saltwater", for 2013. Bill Dance also will work with Sea Tow to help educate boaters and anglers about safe fishing and boating practices throughout the year.
One of the oldest continuously running fishing shows on TV, "Bill Dance Outdoors" has aired since 1968. Today, it is broadcast nationally on NBC Sports and also is widely available in reruns. Hosted by one of the best-known fishermen in the world, the show gives Bill Dance's loyal fans his expert, humorous and sometimes offbeat advice on how to have fun with fishing, as well as educating them about the water and the outdoors.
In "Bill Dance Saltwater", which airs on the Outdoor Channel, the angler brings his educational format to the saltwater fishing arena. In each episode, Bill Dance teams up with a noted offshore angler who specializes in that week's targeted catch.
"In addition to being a past master at fishing, Bill Dance is also a strong advocate for boating and fishing safety," said Capt. Joe Frohnhoefer, Sea Tow Founder and CEO, adding that Dance has been honored with a Congressional National Water Safety Award. "Since Sea Tow also is focused on teaching boaters about safety on the water, this is an ideal partnership."
About Bill Dance
William G. "Bill" Dance won 23 National Bass Titles and scores of other fishing tournaments and awards before retiring from active competition in 1980. Today, still based in his hometown of Collierville, Tenn., he oversees a media empire that includes his TV show, tackle endorsements, how-to seminars, a magazine, website, and a series of popular "blooper" videos featuring hilarious outtakes from his shows. Dance, 67, and his three-man camera crew may spend as many as four days fishing and filming to get the 25 minutes of edited footage necessary for each of his 26 shows each year. The half-hour programs are broadcast on NBC Sports and the original shows are then rerun year-round. For more information, visit www.billdanceoutdoors.com.
