Perch were on fire yesterday. Warm weather, edges were solid and no water or slush on top. South side of Cemetery, 28FOW was the ticket with anything Chartreuse and eye combo(if you had anything that glowed it was even better). fished from 1030 to 1345 and caught 60+, only kept enough for the chowder, most of them small!!! every once and a while an 8 incher would come along. Hope this helps out if anyone is going, plenty out there to catch.

Good luck.

Thanks.

The sheer numbers of perch being pulled out of there is astounding. And still, they seem quite plentiful.

The best thing that we can do for Perch at Pineview is to take a limit of s Perch home on every trip.

There are way too many Perch in Pineview and thinning them out will help to get these small Perch bigger.
There is only so much food in Pineview and there are too many fish competing for it.

Most of the Perch are being caught in water that is over 20' deep. In water this deep, the swim bladder will enlarge and actually come up into the Perch's mouth. If you release a Perch in this condition, it will die.

Do Pineview a favor and take a limit of Perch home.

I submit that one could put a fisherperson every 50' in a grid over the whole Pineview reservoir and have each one take home a limit of 50 perch without seriously hurting the perch fishery there.

[#502800]I went out today and I could not get my bait 20 feet down without a hookup ...... They were all over the water column ....... My screen showed fish from right under the ice to the bottom.[/#502800]
