I understand there is lots of fishable ice at the Gorge. I'm not overly familiar with the gorge, i've have fished buckboards and north several times. I'm thinking of going this weekend for a couple days.
How far South does the fishable ice go? I'm not looking at pushing the limits, but just curious if there is ice down around anvil draw point and that area, or does it get sketchy down that far south. I'm just looking to try new areas.

I don't have any current info but I was there two weeks ago and the ice at Anvil was 7 inches of clear ice, we went down to Swim beach and it was 5 inches clear ice but open water 3/4 mile or so out from shore. The only thing you have to worry about around Anvil is the pressure ridges, we fished by one that was a foot or two of open water. Good luck if you go.
