Surely there must have been a few BFT members out on the ice today at Starvation. Has anyone heard the results? I'm curious about what size trout won the money.

I heard it was a 23" brown. Second hand info from a reliable source.

I had a feeling someone would haul out a nice brown that was a little longer than the typical rainbows. Did you get out there fishing today? If so, how did it go for you?

It was kinda slow for us. my little girl had one on, but lost it right at the hole. But she managed to catch and ice another one. Im so proud of her angling abilities. That was the only two fish today. The

My wife and I was there. We arrived at 7:30 am and stayed until 1 pm. We did not enter the tournament, but the Rangers told me the biggest at that time was a 20 inch rainbow. Another guy stopped in about that time and I heard the Rangers say that he would probably win with his fish if he had entered. Do not know what he had. I was loading the snowmobile and overheard the conversation.
We rode all the way across the lake to the far North East bay by the Cliffs. A few people were there. We started fishing in 20 feet of water but only caught 1, so we started moving deeper until we got in almost 40 feet. The perch were on the bottom and the trout were running through about 10 to 15 feet. We caught 4 nice bows and took home 19 perch, catching about 25 perch total. It was a lot of fun watching the "hordes" of perch come up off the bottom to greet our bait as we dropped down. I used a Ratfinky tipped with a night crawler. My wife used a white paddle bug tipped with a night crawler. Twice I had a big fish hit the paddle bug and break the hook. The first time the line cut my finger. It was a hard hit. Don't know if the fish were that big or the hooks that weak.
The day was sunny and beautiful, but cold. It was 7 degrees when we arrived at 7:30. We did not put up the tent, instead just soaked up the sun. Probably could have caught many more, but wanted to get home before the storm caught us that was coming in.

We didn't fish the tournament but the park ranger told us there were over 200 people that did. It was a great day to be on the ice. We managed several nice starvy steelies and even found a couple Jumbo 13" perch in addition to a few average perch.

Fished the tourney. Best was a 19 1/2 bow but caught another 9 that taped from 17" to 18". All came from 60 ft depths fishing 10 to 15" down except the big one that came from the bottom. Perch were there but could not get them to bite. My buddy had a monster strike about busted his rod but the fish had grabbed the Kastmaster dropper and not the hook. Thinking that had to be a big brown.

I was there the winner had a 23 and a half inch brown, my eleven inch bow didn't stand a chance, but I too caught some jumbo perch. Ten of them between ten and 12 inches.
