Headed to Oahu, Hawaii later this spring and wondered if anyone on here has ever fished with any charters out of Haleiwa, on the North Shore. Going to fish for marlin, mahimahi, and tuna. Just wondered if anyone had any good reviews of any charter boats there? Been looking at H2O Adventures and North Shore Sportfishing. Any experiences with these or others?

Be sure to take a heavy fly rod/reel as well as a heavy spinning rod and find time to just walk the shorelines casting. You'll be surprised how many fish are within casting range, and they will bite most of your conventional trout/bass gear happily. Granted, I've never fished Hawaii, but every other ocean that I've fished (All up and down the US coast, Jamaica, Alaska, etc) it was the case. Even if I'm wrong, it'll still be damn fun and FREE.

Have fun, be safe, and take pictures man!

Went to Oahu this past summer. Went fishing aboard the Boom Boom. Had an awesome time. Caught a Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo and a 12' Marlin. Captain and hands were awesome. Boat gets to keep anything over 100 lbs for market, but filets anything under for the fishermen. Think we took home about 20 lbs of filets for a great BBQ. Doesnt leave from the North Shore but a marina in the southwest. Check the boat out, you cant beat the prices and the boat is beautiful.

Thanks for the reply and glad you had a good time. You have some nice fish/memories there. This is literally a "business trip" and the only shot I will have to fish will be out of the North Shore (Haleiwa) harbor since we will be staying on that end of the island.

I have spent considerable time in Hawaii fishing when I was building several starbucks over there. One of the funnest trips I made was out of Haliewa. There is a boat ( I can't remember the name) That does night time shark fishing charters. ( I'ts pretty inexpensive too) But it is a riot ! And were talking about some big sharks. I would highly recomend that trip. Google shark fishing trips on oahu. I think they are the only ones out of Haliewa. Take some pics
