Left Layton around 730 and got on the ice about 1015. To be honest with you I thought the way people were talking on here that the area would be packed I was wrong. Walked straight to the cord i put on the last post and the bottom was empty, flatline. I had another first timer up with us and I had been talking a liitle smack about how good it was, i was getting worried. I started punching holes north, south, east, and west.
Found the perch about 100yards north of the cord around 1115 and had to move about 6 times all day to stay in the school.
Had a great group of people (Dangler and his group) out fishing today and we all moved together to keep the catching going.
It was the best weather we have had out fishing all year and decided to call it quits and left at 5 to head home. Our group of five managed 160+ perch 1 trout and 1 walleye.
Fish were in 51.3 FOW and again the hot colors were Chartreuse and blue. Caught a few here and there trying different colors and lures. the lures we were using the most was the live forage and buckshot jigging spoons. 1/64 oz jigs with any kind of plastic worked as well.
Good luck to all those going up there this week.
A big shout out to trfishin for the plastic help, Thanks.
On a different note talked to a group at Wendys in Heber that fished the dam area and limited out on trout, he told me about 20-25 FOW and spoons/jigs
