Got to Indian Bay this morning with hopes of finding some perch. Well....just when i thought i had these fish figured out i have a day like today. Drilled about 20 holes all over from 25-50', nothin! Iced a few nice bows but nada 1 perch. Called it quits after 5 hours of narly wind. Saw a few other guys drillin lots of holes too so i figured their story was the same. Ice was about 18" thick. Oh well, its still fun to get out.

Well that is too bad, hard to image it could change that much in less than a week but we really thinned them out, maybe they decided to move on. I have never seen perch stacked as thick as they were last Fri there. We were catching them 15 to 20 feet off the bottom, they were so many of them there. Hope you have better luck next time.

I feel your pain, it was the same way at Echo yesterday. My guess is the full moon and post front condition had a lot to do with this no fish day, not to mention the horrible winds. The fish were there but could not entice them to bite anything.
I'm thinking of hitting Starvation next week, would you recommend Indian Bay or the bridge area for the perch? Another thing, do you think we'll need a plank for the edges or are they going to be ok for a while. Thanks for the post on Starvation.

Amen brother! We saw you out there drilling. We were one of the ones out there drilling for fish too. With that thick ice we went through a tank of gas. Same results for our efforts. I had 3 bites and caught 2 trout---uuugh! We could see em just couldn't get em to bite anything. The guys in the middle with two tents said the same thing. The day before they said they did pretty well and left their tents up over night. Yesterday was different story. They got a couple and there was only one small window of biting. The story of my life--you shoulda been here yesterday!
Were you by any chance the guy in the small Frabill that possibly found a clear plastic tackle box filled with maps?
