I'm going up to Pineview on Saturday with a couple guys from work that have never been ice fishing, or have been and have not had any luck. I'm hoping to be able to make it a good experience so they will go with me again. What has everybody been using to catch them. I have read a lot of posts where people are catching their limit plus some. Where is the best place to set up? Any help appreciated. Thanks

I have fished south side of cemetery point in about 25-30 feet of water, use perch eyes just off the bottom. If you go, let us know how the edges are holding up.

Thank you I will let you know, how thick was the ice when you were there. When did you go?

Was up last weekend, ice was 14 plus inches where we were at, about 150 yds out.

I was up there this evening and there is still a ton of perch to be had. I fished the north side of cemetery point and had it to myself. There were about 3 groups over at browning point and that many on the south side of cemetery. I was using a gadens (?) in a glow color tipped with a meal worm. The perch color has also worked well this year. I did tie a lindy jig head on tonight about 8" up and that caught a few as well. Best advice is fish very close to the bottom and a spring bobber or severe focus is a must. Oh, and tip everything with some kind of bait. The edges were completely solid and the ice was around 17" or more. Good luck and set the hook at ANY indication something might be even close to your bait.
I can send you a picture of the spoon I was using if your interested. There really isn't anything wrong to use up there right now...Swedish pimples, ice flies, kastmaster, lindy's, rat finkies, tube jigs...just think on the smaller end.
