That's great! I was up there today too. Caught my first mack through the ice, as well as a decent cutt. I am just getting ready to post about it.

Very nice! I'm surprised you haven't been crucified for keeping a laker. How'd it taste? I've never ate one, but I've also never had the desire, trout, or char, taste like gutter trash to me unless smoked.[cool]

I cut them up into little pieces and marinade them over night or two days . Bear batter them and cook them up. Make a couple little fish tacos.

It tastes a pretty rank fish to mess up beer batter.

Did you Mac hit like a ton of bricks?

And

Did your cut hit it gently like it was almost trying to steal the bait?

I caught a cut last week that pulled the light bite steal the bait maneuver.

The mac hit really quickly and hard. I saw it on my sonar come up and I grabbed my rod and was ready. Something stole my bait a little while before. And yeah, the cutt didn't hit too hard. I also saw it and grabbed my rod. As soon as it moved my rod, I set the hook and got it.

I wouldn't call that a laker, more of a pup. Nothing wrong with keeping a couple of the little guys. [sly]
