Fished on Palies this afternoon from noon to about four. I have never done good in the afternoon but today was an exception. Action was good all afternoon with nightcrawlers on dead sticks. Jigs of any color were not effective. Ended up with 14 and missed at least that many. 3 were browns and the rest cutts. Caught fish in 20 to 50 feet of water off the dam. Ice is 18 to 20 inches thick but the shoreline is horrible. Take a plank or you will take a swim! No slush where I was, just a couple inches of crusty snow. They are getting snow machines on the ice at Calamity boat ramp. As always, the hike up the hill off the lake is brutal. Good luck if you head up.
