LMAO that is a good one! Think May or more likely June. One year, ran into snow on a hike to twin lake in early July! When it's 100 degrees down here in the valley the breezes blow cool up there. It's gonna take a while for 90 inches of snow to melt. That lake may even have froze to the bottom this year with how cold it was.

He's not kidding around. That place is shallow to begin with and that high up it will be frozen til memorial day if not fathers day and even then the fishings never brag worthy. At least not that I ever saw anyone doing.

Thanks for the info. I fished Silver Lake for the first time last year. Wasn't sure when it would open up. I love it up there and almost never left without a full stringer.
What would you recommend down here in the valley until the thaw comes to the mountains?
