I'm convinced spring is officially here. This past week houseflies sunned themselves on a warm brick wall, nightcrawlers poked thru the warm rain, and the kid next door had a lemonade stand up & running.

No nightcrawlers at my house, still over a foot of snow in my backyard. Still, I think you're right. I saw a couple of sandhill cranes, a mess of geese and several redwing blackbirds. Definitely good signs. Thank goodness.

Finally saw my grass again this week - and immediately got piles of deer poop on it where they're eating my ornamentals down to dirt. (I can afford new plants, and the poor things are probably starving by now.)
The neighborhood covey of California quail made an appearance, also. I even heard birds when I went out to get the paper today. Yup, spring.

I hope you're correct. I've got spring fever bad, can't wait to dunk the boat!

I have a couple of spots of grass, but then some drifts that are still 2 or 3 feet deep and most of the yard with a good foot or more. Even though my town is surrounded by unincorporated land just chock full of deer, they don't usually go into my yard for some reason. Which is surprising as we have tons of tulips and an orchard, some favorites of the deer. I guess I'm lucky. Not many quail up here, but tons and tons of pheasant. I just hope the forecast holds. I haven't been out since November and I'm really anxious to go fling some flies in a stream.

Can't wait for open water, look like Utah lake will be ice free in a week or so. Then the walleye hunt will begin...[fishon]
