checked the fish passage reports for some odd reason today. there has been a few springers over Boneville!!!!! made the hair on my neck stand up. I hope fish and game is wrong and we get a descent return this year.

Seems I was looking at something, probably saw it here, that had me thinking this was going to be a banner year. Tons of fish off the coast getting into their "patterns" for coming up stream. Whatever I saw I know I got real excited. Now, I was looking at or at least thinking Chinook for that. Is that what you are speaking of?
I know I saw the report that was posted here and am excited to see the sockeye program seems to be going full speed ahead and we may see some nice results from that in a few years.

Well then it was completely different from what you read or heard of. Oh gosh, I hope I wasn't reading some report from last year.

basically fish and game seems to think they can still predict salmon returns by the number of jacks returning. so this year they have predicted a very low return. I've had two different casual conversations with F&G biologists over the last few weeks that ended up with them saying the way they predict the run is not accurate enough for them to be able to release a prediction to the public. lets hope the article you posted is right. Im sure we will still have a season. as for right now I'm a little worried about water. we have not had near the amount of perception here in lewiston that we have had in the past 3 years.

One thing i thought was intresting about that article is that it doesnt mention anything about spring run chinook on the columbia only fall run.
