The IDFG weekly report will be out later today. The Village At North Fork prides itself on providing accurate, up-to-date information. Last season they even put the river conditions on their telephone each morning. The people there are really cool and totally dialed in. Most of the owners and staff are hard core steelheaders. One of the owners even runs a fly company. You can't go wrong calling them and they won't blow you off. 208-865-7001. Don't worry, I don't get any compensation (or even an 'atta boy') for repping them. They are just awesome people running an awesome gig.
We will be doing an article mid-week about water and weather for the upcoming weekend.
A LOT of people don't realize this factoid but Salmon & North Fork weather is forecast and reported out of the Missoula, Montana, NWS Office--NOT from Pokey or Boise. The Missoula NWS Staff is much more dialed into the mountain weather reality than either Boise or Pokey where they focus on the Snake River Plain more than the mtns.
So, keep your eyes on the Missoula NWS site, especially their Forecast Discussion narratives.

Right now the weather forecast for the upcoming weekend is a little "iffy" but it's really too early to lock down a genuine forecast.
Anyway, "water and weather" are the Biggies for the next few weekends and we will be doing a lot of coverage on both of them in the days and weeks ahead.
