Launched out of Agency Creek yesterday morning around 8:30am. I knew the wind would be kicking up so I headed out to the main river first and then worked my way back to the creek as the wind picked up. It sure was windy, but the kayak handled it great. I threw the trap most of the day with some appearances by the curly tail grub. I had a bluegill slap at the trap and I'm pretty sure it was outweighed. I didn't have any sniffs at the trip. I headed back into the creek and played with a few crappie before pulling out around 1:00pm. It was a great day to be out on the water. I had never fished the Hiwassee area before yesterday. Seems like a tough area at winter pool. I found all kinds of areas I want to try when the water comes up. We have a kayak tournament out of there this coming Saturday, so I figured I'd scout out some water. At least I know what NOT to try and where NOT to go.
