A good buddy of mine and our Dads fished the Ram's Head and the Clam Hole Friday and Saturday. Friday I caught a small hatchery hen and my buddy caught a decent sized wild fish. Saturday we caught nothing. Fishing was SLOOOOOW everywhere we checked. Just like us people were catching a few on Friday and then Saturday nobody was catching a thing. We tried a little of everything, roe, shrimp, flies, helgies, pink rubber worms, black worms, beads, rubber eggs, bottled eggs, egg flies, corkies, and anything else we could think of. The two we caught were on little orange corkies. The river was starting to turn chocolate when we left, and the closer you got to the Lemhi the worse it got. Hopefully steelfisher did better than we did. Oh well maybe next year.

Was the same for us. 3 of us fished wed-sat all over. Down river, around Salmon and up river below Ellis. 5 steelhead landed in 4 days. Not good at all. Probably the worst time we've ever had in March. Somoeone said the water temps are rising too fast and shutting the bite down. I'm not sure, but it really was tough.

It was slow for me as we'll. I caught 2 on Thursday, 1 on Friday, and 2 on Saturday.

Too bad the catching wasn't better, but thanks all for the reports. Nice to get out and try anyway. Some trips are just like that way, especially for steelhead.
